High-throughput screening platform

It can deliver a massive throughput of up to 10,000 samples per day!
Compound Screening
The VIB Screening Core provides services at the different levels of a screening project:
- Assay development
- High-throughput/high-content screening
- optional: Hit-validation
The VIB Screening Core has access to a compound collection that amounts to a total of almost 50,000 compounds, acquired from Enamine and Selleck Chemicals. The core also manages a diverse subset of the collection of CBI (Chemistry to foster Biology Innovation), a chemistry cluster that brings together chemical expertise present in the universities of Antwerp, Leuven, Ghent, Hasselt and Brussels. The total collection comprises several subcollections, from which researchers can select to screen in their project.
Functional genomics screening
The VIB Screening Core provides services at the different levels of a functional genomics screening project: (1) Assay Development and (2) High-throughput/high-content screening
he VIB Screening Core has inhouse the Human siGENOME/ON-TARGETplus SMARTpool siRNA library (Dharmacon, Thermo Fisher Scientific) for siRNA screening. The library comprises nine distinct subsets, and each subset is available for screening separately.
High Content imaging
High Content Imaging (HCI) combines high-throughput automated imaging and analysis to extract quantitative multi-parametric data at the single-cell level and used as an unbiased imaging method to assess cellular function.The VIB Screening core provides high content imaging as a highly automated three-step process used to dramatically increase imaging throughput and quantification:
- Image acquisition
- Image processing
- Image analysis
